Deadlines

The end of the month is always very hectic for me because that’s usually around the time when my clients want their projects in.  It’s not like I procrastinate a lot, but sometimes things get busy and I don’t realize how much stuff I have to do until I have a couple of days left in the month and a week’s worth of projects to finish.

Hey, I’m blessed to have as much work as I do.  If you want to read about tips on how to stay within your deadline schedule, though, you’ll probably want to read about it somewhere else.  I usually manage to stay within all my deadlines, but I don’t get a lot of sleep at the end of the month and I’m pretty grumpy.  If you don’t believe me, ask my kids and I’m sure they’ll agree with me on this one.

Here is what keeps me on task: I’m doing a job.  What is the likelihood that these clients will contact me again for more projects if I have no regard for the deadlines they set? Sure, I’m a writer so I’m allowed to be a little flighty, but when it comes right down to it these folks need something by a certain time and I’m going to give it to them when I said it would be there.

Now if you’ll excuse me, I’m going to force my sleep-deprived self to finish up some projects that are due tomorrow.
