A Fun Writing Job: Demand Studios

Published by Tamsen Butler at 7:48 am under Other Musings Edit This

I write for a variety of websites on a daily basis.  If you have some experience and you’re looking for somewhere fun to make some extra money, let me suggest Demand Studios.

Demand Studios provides content for a bunch of websites.  If your application is accepted you’re given access to the job board and you get to peruse the articles they’re looking for.  The thing I really like about this particular company is that you get to choose your assignments and once you ”check out” an assignment it’s yours.  It’s not like you have to compete with other writers who will compose the same articles and then have an editor decide who did the best job.  Once you claim an article it’s yours, and as long as you write it well you’ll get paid promptly.

The available articles are sometimes pretty wacky.  I’ve had a lot of fun writing some articles like:

  • How to Fake an Illness
  • How to Marry for Money
  • How to Fire a Therapist
  • How to Stop Stalking
  • How to Get My Wife to Leave Me
  • How to Get Every Guy to Like You

I’ve written a lot of financial articles for them too, but I’d have to say I get a real kick out of writing these other ones that are a little off the wall.

Demand Studios also accepts content from filmmakers, but I don’t know much about that stuff because I’m a writer, baby.

I have been writing for Demand for a few months now. I do ok, but wish I knew about more of the topics. I’ve recently started doing some of the About articles so that helps.

Some of the topics I don’t even bother claiming because I know nothing about them. The different formats do make it more fun, though!
